Sometimes when you’re not at home you need a temporary home, or at least a virtual home.  This is our virtual home – Our Pangaea.

In 2009 we moved to Bangkok as I took up a new regional role with my long term employer.  This was a huge new adventure for both of us – and the fourth country I had lived in.  We lived in Bangkok for more than four and a half years, trying not to miss our grown up kids and family too much, enjoying the moment.

But soon after moving there we realised the challenge of keeping in touch with all our friends and family in the Australia, the US and elsewhere.  And so…the blog was born.

The pages of this blog were intended to keep our family and friends who are scattered around the world up to date with our world and to have a bit of fun while we’re doing it.

We eventually left Bangkok and returned to Australia, moved back into our family home, close to our friends and three great children.  We both rejoined the local work force and returned to a somewhat ‘normal’ lifestyle.  During this time we also kept the blog going as we enjoyed many memorable trips, including a three month trip around Australia in our roof top tent and a one month group trip across the Simpson Desert with 17 family members.

Now we are moving on to the next stage of our life, to fulfil a dream we have had for almost 25 years.  Yes, it sounds a little crazy but we’ve bought a four wheel drive truck and a very cool compact camper which will be our home for up to three years as we drive around the world.  You are welcome to join us at the beginning which starts here – Followthesun – when we quit our jobs, packed up our family home, said goodbye to our family and friends and reduced our lives to two duffel bags of clothes.  Wow!

Enjoy!
